PRELEX Testimonials
"I have been seeing Dr. Young for at least 10 years for routine eye care. You see, I have had very poor eye sight since I was a child. Sue Ellen Young is one of the very few genuinely good people I have been exposed to the medical profession.
I met Dr. Knolle when I requested laser surgery to correct my profound near-sightedness. On the day of the scheduled surgery, he called and said that he had reconsidered my case and decided that I was not a proper candidate because my cornea was not thick enough. It was then that he told me of a new procedure that he was working on in clinical trial that he thought could be perfect for me.
Well how right he was. This spring Dr. Knolle performed Prelex surgery on me and the results were indeed "perfect." It is no understatement to call what he and his staff did for me a miracle. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes for near and far vision. It is a cliché to say I can now wake up at night and see the alarm clock. But that is true. More importantly though, now I can see my wife's face when I kiss her goodnight. How do you place a value on that?
Having said all that, my true respect, admiration and gratitude to Knolle and Young and their wonderful staff is not limited to their technical skills which are prodigious, but more, it has do to the caring, sensitive and thoughtful way I was, and always have been, treated while in their care.
With gratitude and appreciation,"

“In doing my research about PRELEX, I reached the conclusion that LASIK, relative to lens surgery, is a much newer procedure. The multifocal lens is the state-of-the-art element that now corrects more things than the older single focus lens. For that reason, if you have enough of the symptoms (presbyopia or the beginnings of a cataract) that are correctable by PRELEX and recognizing that the cost differential between LASIK and PRELEX are not that significant, I think it is something any rational person should consider. About ninety minutes after PRELEX, I was having lunch and all I could say was, WOW. It was obvious that I had a 20/20 eye.”

"Prelex is wonderful. As time passes, I am even more excited about having it done than in the beginning. Every day there are little things that unfold that make me even more thankful.
It is so nice to go swimming and be able to see. When it rains, I don't have the annoying problem of the glasses getting wet or when in the hot tub I don't have a pair of glasses steam up.
One of the things that is critical to me as a professional is no down time at my job. The recuperation period is so short, my life was not interrupted at all. It took longer to prep me than it did to do the surgery.
I was able to pick out a pair of polarized sunglasses off the shelf for the first time.
I have run into some people I haven't seen in a while and they say how absolutely fantastic I look without glasses. It makes my day I was not conscience about wearing glasses, but I am so thrilled to not wear them any longer. I am ecstatic there was an option for me.
Now that I don't wear glasses, my eyes stand out so much I had eyelid surgery.
My eyes did seem drier, but that is improving. As far as the night vision goes, it never bothered me at all. I did buy a pair of reading glasses, but I use them only for super small print or when my eyes get tired.
I have to say, this is one of the best things I have ever done just for me."

"I did consider LASIK but I’d have had to wear glasses after LASIK for reading. With PRELEX, I don’t need glasses at all, which is such an improvement. It’s probably the best thing that has ever happened to me. Dr. Knolle made me feel at ease and it helped knowing he had done so many of these procedures before me. And the staff at Knolle & Young Associates makes you feel like you’re the Queen around here. Everybody is so upbeat and positive and makes you feel very much at home. It was just a marvelous experience."

“When I found out Dr. Knolle had PRELEX on his eyes, I knew it must be a good procedure. It really enhances our ability to communicate. Before PRELEX, I had to hold print about 1 inch from my eye to read. Last week, I looked out my window and saw a tree and bush in my neighbor's yard that I never knew was there before. I could see the bark pattern on the tree and flowers on the bush. With the multifocal lens, I could see these with crystal clear vision. I could also see the details of the leaves on a branch about 6 feet from my window and then I realized that on the window pane I was looking through, there were a couple of water splotches and I could see those clearly, too. To me…that is miraculous.”

"My vision was so bad I actually drove the wrong way on a one way street and I was jumping curbs. At my age and being diabetic, I didn’t know how my vision would turn out. But after meeting with Dr. Knolle, he was just so professional. He got me to see 20/20 and to me it's like a miracle. And with the multifocal lens, I can see at all distances. In fact, I can see so well, my wife is coming in to see Dr. Knolle to have her eyes done."
